The following is an email from an outdoor instructor who is keen to spread knowledge and understanding of Leave No Trace:
Thanks again for setting me up well for my outdoor instructor qualifications refresher, so great to hear LNT is doing well in NZ.
The group of instructors had heard the name of Leave No Trace but not much more than that. So I explained a brief
background and then went into what makes LNT different to the environmental care code. I explained how it can apply to different ecosystems and how it relates to ethics and values. I also pointed a few things out throughout the day that related well to discussion ie pristine areas versus well used areas.
People seemed really responsive to learning more about it, and they really liked the pocket guide you gave me. I think the main thing that I managed to do was plant a seed of interest, and gave them some ways to look further intoit , so in saying that I think it was a success.
Thanks again for all your help,
Jacqui
