Leave No Trace Trainer course at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre

The lush bush of the central North Island was a change from the tussock and Beech forests of Canterbury. Two leaders (Chris North and Matt Bennett) ran a trainer course for 16 OPC staff in the Pureora Forest.

Despite a dismal forecast, the weather was at worst showery and often quite sunny. The end result of the course was that OPC is keen to support LNT and provide staff time to help with training and education programmes. Brilliant!

Feedback included:

"I found it a great set of tools that I believe can be picked up by anyone, no matter what they believe, whether they are tree huggers or hunters, we all need to care for and look after this amazing land we have been given"
